This renovation project is guided by a dual ambition: to optimize the layout of a longitudinal apartment and to create a warm, immersive, and sensory atmosphere.
Located in the heart of Barcelona, the original floor plan was narrow and elongated, presenting the challenge of avoiding excessive compartmentalization while enhancing spatial openness and continuity.
The design solution integrates fixed elements—such as the kitchen, custom-built furniture, and stone benches—into the perimeter walls, freeing up the central area and encouraging intuitive, fluid movement throughout the space.
A consistent palette of materials is used across walls, ceilings, and furnishings to reinforce a sense of unity and coherence, without becoming monotonous. Materiality takes center stage, lending identity and character to every corner.
Within this continuous language, two materials stand out: Alicante red marble and reddish travertine, used predominantly in the kitchen. There, they clad the walls and shape countertops and benches through meticulous detailing, bringing warmth and sophistication to the heart of the home.
